One of a Kind Film Reel, First Film J.T. was Ever in
Hey everyone! My name is Jenna, to introduce myself. I hope everyone is well! I came upon this site because my father was a good friend of J.T.'s way back in the '70's when they were both struggling NYC actors. My mother actually took him to the Opera when my father couldn't go b/c of the rehearsal schedule of the play he happened to be in at the time. J.T. lived with them for a period of time, and my father actually gave him a pair of shoes at one point, when J.T. was struggling. My father loved J.T.. They were good friends, and my father had the utmost respect for him, and knew him as a down to earth, do anything to help a friend, upstanding guy.

They starred together in J.T.'s FIRST EVER film appearance in 1974, a 29 minute NYU student film called "Django", about the life of Django Rienhart. J.T. tried to convince my father to come out to CA w/him to "make it", but my father was convinced that he was going to make it in NY...and well, then I came along and things changed for my father...but not for J.T. He, of course, went on to great success and my father took a different path, and has always spoken so highly of him as a great friend and talented actor.

My dad doesn't have internet, nor is he very technology savvy, but he has in his possession, one of only THREE copies anywhere in the world of this film, J.T.'s FIRST time on film. It is the only known copy still in existence, only been viewed 2 times, in mint condition, encased in a harcover shell, and being that my dad doesn't have the proper equipment, for Father's Day I am getting it transferred to DVD for him, but he really has no use for the actual film reel.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice as to what this film may be worth as a collectors item. My father says it is just "collecting dust" and wants someone who will really cherish and appreciate it and have use for it to have it, but we don't know where to start.

I've grown up listening to J.T. stories. This is a great site I will share with my father. It's nice to meet you all and thankyou for any advice or guidance also!! Take care everyone! ~Jenna~
